Before you start
- What we need: links to the posts or comments, or your handle on each network, such as @name on Bluesky or Threads. For LinkedIn and Facebook comments, send a link to the comment itself: those networks don’t give us names we could search for.
- What happens next: we email you a link to confirm your request. It works for 7 days, and nothing happens until you confirm: a request that isn’t confirmed is deleted 8 days after it was made. A member of our staff then reviews every confirmed request before we delete anything or stop collecting any account. We never apply requests automatically, because anyone could type someone else’s handle. We may ask you to show that an account is yours or, if you act for someone else, that you’re allowed to act for them. We act within 30 days of your confirmation, and within 7 days for YouTube data, and email you when it’s done, or why if we can’t complete it.
- What it doesn’t do: it doesn’t delete anything on the network itself. Copies of Bluesky posts we already sent to our AI provider for labels are deleted by the provider within about 30 days (we never send it posts or comments from other networks). To keep your posts out, we keep a list of the accounts and posts you named, stored only as one-way fingerprints (hashes) of the network and the handle or ID, never their content, for as long as your objection stands.
